2010

13 MAY 2010 - Meeting Minutes

1. attendance - all teams except black knights, with ref-co-ord richard carman present.

2. ref co-ord - reported that in season 2010 he would have access to more officials as he was also co-ordinating for the peel halton league. there are also likely to be young lines assists - dissents will be cardable. he drew attention to the following NOT ALLOWED - players wearing odd coloured socks; jewellery that can be seen [necklaces tucked in allowable], earrings, rings which are not flat [flat (wedding) bands must be taped]. fees are same as 2009 - $60,referee; $30 each lines assist - and only pay for those who show. [the fees are payable by half from each team prior to k.o.].
it was said from the floor of 'better than some prior years' service on behalf of the members as part of a question/answer/comment session.

3. insurance certificates have been sent out, on more than one occasion, to some - any further difficulty to be notified to alex t. [city of miss seems to be a problem authority].

4. schedule part #1 has been issued and is now on website [fmunited.com]. second half still to worked.

5. discipline carry over from 2009 will be notified before wednesday 26 may games. league, and panthers, are awaiting the decision of the osa discipline committee on the referee assault hearing.

6. constitution/rules  -  due to the december computer system crash the constitution/rules rewrite has been held over for the time being, needing to be redone.

7. registrations and $ were collected from those present. as black knights are not present the team is directed to attend the additional registration night with registrations and $ - there will be a further registration/$  session on monday 17 may at brackys, moore park plaza, from 7-30pm to 9-30pm.
blkts failure to attend will result in suspension of games, which will be awarded to opponents, with any costs incurred awarded against blkts.

8. substitutions - propsal accepted to change substitutions to - change on goals, goal kicks, half time, injuries [both teams] & OWN TEAM [no 'piggy backs'] throw ins. ref co-ord will notify game officials.

11 APRIL 2010 - Meeting Minutes (1ST MEETING OF 2010)

1.attendance - apology for non attendance - black knights, panthers [fined $25 each]. otherwise ok.

2. ref co-ord - r carman has intimated ok for 2010 - accepted gratefully.

3. exec - president - Ted DuArte volunteered - acclaimed.
           - match sec - alex tough continues.
           - registrar - possibility of martin merrick assisting - accepted.
           - treasurer - nothing heard from colin wilkie, assumed to be ok for now.

4. fields - teams asked to advise their field arrangements asap or they will lose out for
preferences of dates and times. known to date, plus this meeting advices,  are 4 georgetown fields , black knights, erin, fmutd/gmsc, panthers, scutd.

5. promotion/relegation/division set up. 20 teams returning = 8/6/6 divisions. this was changed for 2010 into 2 divisions, each of 10 teams. falcons and rams promoted to the premier with no relegation. all others go into first division. this to hold for 2010.

6. $$$$. there was no 2009 statement available although looking ok from available information.
the final position as advised to phsa was a makeshift showing a small balance in favour. hopefully more update accurate info will be available soon. budget for 2010 to be provided prior to the next meeting in earl may - looking similar to 2009 at the moment.

7. voluntary screening. martin merrick attended a discovery meeting at phsa on league behalf. martin sent an email report to all members in march.  each league administrator/executive member has to submit to screening and maybe also  coaches and managers. phsa has been asked to verify and provide more information. [this is handed down from the government/csa/osa/phsa to all members and is a legal requirement - an attempt to preclude abusers from positions of trust. police clearance, at 'your' expense is one definite requirement of the process].
more info as it becomes available.

8. registration  - package issued to each team present with explanations and advice on completion form by form. multi 'task' persons need to complete forms for each team position  [e.g. a player/coach needs a form completed for both]. forms to be ready before the

1c) Non-attendees - [a] meteor - already registered players and paid opening registration fee. [b] yguns - not notified of meeting due to addressing error in emails.

2) Old business 1 - executive positions have yet to be filled - pres./secretary./registrar/ref coordinator - the latter two being very important and requiring URGENT attention from members. the ref coordinator in particular is required. a computer system of appointments is available via an Ottawa concern and more costly than our past method (around $750 for the appointee's work).

3) Old business 2 - 2008 trophy presentations were postponed due to two main factors. lack of contact between exec members and teams laxness in returning major trophies and in submitting MVPs. all hopefully, will be cleared in time for next meeting.

4) Villa return application - following details from Alex T., explanations from team/player rep Keith Dunn & members discussion - villa welcomed back with exclusions for former manager, asst manager and coach.

5) 2008 financial statement to 31 October presented in detail. accepted. budget for 2009 incomplete at this stage, to be presented before next meeting [which will be in may].

6) Insurance certificates - are to hand. if any team wishes a copy let Alex T. know later. as for GMSC and FMU, out of u of t field, the certificate may have the incorrect addressee - Alex. T already following up on this. FMU and GMSC are also included in the city of Mississauga certificate. This cover is for public liability and runs from 01 May until 31 October and the certificates are for field issuing authorities. [teams will probably require to show a copy with their field application request]. Injury cover runs from 01 October until 30 September and is separate from above and no certificates are given out for this part'

7) 2009 fields - Georgetown and U of T fields are already known and booked. others 'get on your bikes'. GMSC have agreed to share the u of t field with FM United. Milton is to be looked after by Paul Reid, Villa by Keith Dunn. info required to be notified to Alex. T ASAP for scheduling purposes [ a copy emailed is required].

8) registrations - each team has a team form [new], administrator form, coach form and 2 player forms. New team form explained - required is team coach, admin, rep info - players printed name, small photo and signature in a 'box', 25 box entries per page. a copy of the team form, when approved by league, will be issued to each team in its' division. old books, forms and pictures where available were handed back to teams with their package.

PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL ME FOR ANY REASON - I'LL HELP IF I CAN.
EMAIL ABOVE.

CELL - 647 628 9819 [NOT ALWAYS WITH ME-FORGETFULNESS].
please advise any errors and/or omissions.

26 MARCH 09

1)   I have received a request from Keith Dunn representing the players of the above banned team from last season. I have invited Keith to the meeting on Sunday March 29th to 'put his case' and answer any questions you may have. Keith states that the management of last season are no longer involved with the team and that not all of the players are part of 2009. The team still has the late time slot at the same field in Acton. He will be running the team. As to last season, not one of the Villa players were officially registered with the league or with PHSA, as the 2008 management had stated and, so, the team forfeited all games played, league and playoffs.

2)
Not returning from 2008 are Lions (not enough interest or players) and Milton United - unregistered. Returning are Gunners2 (with your agreement) & possibly the 'new Villa' (with membership approval).
See y'all Sunday 2:00 pm & do not forget your initial payment.
Alex

19 MARCH 09
